An office good for both the people and the planet

Green design

Green design is not about putting flowers in the office.

It’s about creating spaces that not only look stunning but also promote environmental responsibility and support the wellbeing of occupants.

Green design transcends mere aesthetics; it’s a commitment to creating spaces that marry beauty with environmental stewardship and occupant well-being. Sustainable design aims to minimize the environmental impact of office fit-outs and usage, prioritizing energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials, and occupant health.

To achieve these goals, we focus on:

  • Energy Efficiency: Incorporating energy-efficient lighting and heating/cooling systems to reduce consumption and costs, while maximizing natural light for a healthier indoor environment.
  • Sustainable Materials: Sourcing eco-friendly, recycled, or renewable materials to minimize waste and environmental impact.
  • Reuse and Recycle: Promoting the reuse of materials and furniture to extend their lifespan and contribute to a circular economy.
  • Biophilic Design: Integrating natural elements like green walls and indoor plants to enhance aesthetics and promote mental well-being and productivity.

Case study:

In a recent project with Ten Square Games, we meticulously measured the carbon footprint of every stage, achieving a total emission reduction of 38.8 tons of CO2.

During the design process, we made many decisions to reuse some of the existing elements, including partial preservation of walls, carpets, modular ceilings, or installations. For users, however, this is practically invisible, because the office as a whole is invented from scratch, with new functions in mind and to reflect the modern character of the brand.

We used, among other things, Danish Ege carpets, designed especially for this project. Since they are on the floors and partly on the walls with a special acoustic underlay, they further improve the comfort of the rooms. But most importantly – these carpets are not only Cradle2Cradle certified but also made from recycled fishing nets or pet bottles.
